Samsung have the opportunity to sit back and feel smug right now. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has officially become the most pre-ordered smartphone ever, according the the UK mobile retailer Vodafone. People will get to see for themselves what the fuss is about when it’s released at the end of this month.
The phone was launched officially early in May, and has already broken all of the phone pre-order records. The previous record was held by the Samsung Galaxy S2, so it’s no wonder people have taken time out of Facebook and partypoker browsing to order it.
Vodafone have gone on record as saying that “With over a week to go until launch, it’s already the most pre-ordered Android device we’ve brought into our smartphone line-up to date.” They went on to say the figures have been really encouraging in terms of sales.
What with the Samsung Galaxy S2 being one of the most popular phones on the market still, it’s no wonder so many people have wanted to try out the upgrade of this iconic phone. Samsung have been very fortunate with the Galaxy series thus far, we’ll have to wait and see if their luck continues.
Vodafone’s praise of the S3 has been backed by other phone suppliers too. The Carphone Warehouse for example claim they too have been swamped with orders for the brand new Galaxy phone.
“The Galaxy S3 is without a doubt the fastest selling pre-order of 2012 so far. We’re gearing up for an exceptionally busy launch day at the end of the month as the handset lands on shelves at our stores across the UK,” chief commercial officer, Graham Stapleton said.
